What does a company Risk Score mean?
- Potential risks, along with dozens of other factors, are incorporated into the calculation of a real-time Risk Score, which is valuable for a quick assessment of the potential risk associated with third parties.
A high Risk Score DOES NOT mean an organization is fundamentally unsafe, only that Recorded Future has observed external indicators of high-severity threats and elevated cyber risk.
How exactly is a Risk Score calculated?
- We use a comprehensive set of Risk Rules that aggregates information from Recorded Future’s industry-leading Intelligence Cloud, which includes sources from the open, deep, and dark web, along with technical and proprietary sources. Recorded Future relies exclusively on external data and does not engage in active scanning of organizations. For more details, check out this Risk Rule support article.
Can I share my findings with my vendors?
Yes, we encourage leveraging and sharing Third-Party Intelligence with vendors as another tool to gain visibility into and decrease third-party risk. Consider exporting the Third-Party Summary Report or Intelligence Card data.
