Microsoft Copilot - Recorded Future MCP Setup Guide

There are two options for setting up the Microsoft Copilot MCP: Simple and Advanced. Simple should work for most customers. Use Advanced if you have specific configuration needs dependent upon your company's existing Copilot configuration.

Simple Guide 

1. Allow popups for Studio in your browser
2. Select Agents - Tools - Add a tool
3. Enter the following:
   • Name
   • Description
   • Server: https://mcp.recordedfuture.com/mcp
   • Select  OAuth 2.0 - Dynamic Discovery
4. Click create and follow the wizard. You need to login to Recorded Future with a valid account, so prepare by logging in to the portal first.

Advanced Guide

Navigate to this screen after starting the process to add a new MCP server in Copilot Studio:

Fill in the blanks with the following:

CLIENT ID Steps

For most customers, this step isn't yet possible. Client ID / Secret will be available as part of the General Availability release of Recorded Future MCP. 

1. Reference the Client ID you created in the RF Portal (assuming you created a dedicated integration API client ID/secret for this MCP Server) while going through the initial setup
2. Once you see the “Your tool was created successfully!” page, you will see a Redirect URL. SAVE THIS/COPY THIS OFF. Do not attempt to establish a connection, it won’t work
3. Before you attempt to establish the connection, follow these steps:
   • Run the following curl command from terminal to register your client, ensure you copy and paste the Redirect URL (in-between the quotation marks) that you received when originally adding the MCP Server in Copilot Studio, and also rename your client_name:

• You will see a response come back with a different client_id
  • SAVE THIS/COPY THIS OFF
• Your will need to update the MCP server configuration with this new client_id
  • In Copilot Studio, select Settings (gear icon) in the left navigation
  • Look for Custom connectors or MCP servers
    • or

• Navigate to https://make.powerapps.com
  • ​​​​​​​Ensure you're in the correct environment (same one as your agent/MCP newly created MCP server)
    In the left nav, expand More → select Connections or Custom connectors
• Update the client ID and save the configuration
• Establish the connection and add it as a tool to whatever agent
